Pilot Positions

Alkan Air currently employs approximately 25 pilots. Our low employee turnover means that our pilots have total flying times well above industry averages, but we have been expanding rapidly and we always welcome resume´s from pilots interested in making a move to Whitehorse. We fly in a very mountainous area into primarily gravel strips and we highly value experience in these conditions. Our emphasis on safety, our excellent fleet maintenance, and our competitive pay scale keep our crews loyal to the company.

The minimum requirement for a position with Alkan Air is as follows:

• 500 hours Total Time
• Time on type is valued for all positions
• Tail-wheel and bush time is valued for bush pilot positions.
• IFR and multi engine time is valued for all positions and particularly for the King Airs.

Preference given to individuals with their ATPL.

Ramp and dispatch personnel are hired seasonally and paid competitively. Currently all of our ramp personnel have more than 750 hours total time, Multi-IFR ratings and IATRAS.

Aviation Maintenance Engineer

Alkan Air has five permanent AMEs on staff and, like our flight department, the turnover in the maintenance department is very low. However, we are expanding and you are welcome to submit a resume to the Director of Maintenance Wade Roberts and he will keep it on file for one year.
